How It All Started

In late 2011 while browsing the web, Abdel Ibrahim had a thought:

Why is it so hard to find good independent technology related content?

Blogging platforms such as WordPress and Tumblr have allowed anyone with a computer, smartphone, or tablet to share their thoughts, opinions, and ideas with the world. The problem isn’t that content isn’t out there, but rather it’s difficult to find.

Months after having this idea, Abdel shared his thoughts with good friend and software engineer, Brian Housman, who had also admittedly shared the same feelings. Within weeks, Abdel flew from his home in San Diego all the way to NYC to discuss developing the idea. It was then when Brian introduced designer, Keith Esernio, who loved the idea and agreed to work on the project right away.

Together, they decided to give the idea a shot and create a centralized place where anyone (so long that it’s good) can submit their tech-related content. Using human curation and a non-bias approach, they strive to help empower anyone with a great idea to share his or her work with the world.
