Amazon seems poised to unveil new Kindles
Amazon seems poised to unveil a slew of new Kindle devices, and they might be rolled out as early as next week.
Gizmodo noticed Friday that the 3G version of the online retailer’s Kindle Touch is listed as unavailable, suggesting that the company has sold out of the devices and doesn’t plan to replenish its inventory. What’s more, ad-supported models ordered today won’t ship for another eight or nine days.
And as if those developments weren’t evidence enough that Amazon’s making way for new products, the company marked down the price of its 10-inch Kindle DX tablet today by $110. Presumably there isn’t room for the device in Amazon’s next-generation lineup, which could include a 10-inch Kindle Fire.
