Square credit-card readers now sold at FedEx Office, Staples, and Walgreens

Mobile-payment pioneer Square is now selling the $10 credit-card reader that made it famous at FedEx Office, Staples, and Walgreens. Square’s dongle, which was previously only found at Apple, Best buy, Office Max, Radio Shack, Target, IPS, and Walmart locations, is now available in 20,000 stores nationwide, or exactly double its retail presence of just six months ago.
With support for iOS and Android devices, Square’s card reader aims to empower consumers and businesses alike to conduct transactions away from the register.
Jeffrey Kolovson, Square’s head of retail distribution, had this to say of the company’s new partnerships:
Accepting credit cards should be as easy as buying supplies at your local store. We are working with leading retailers including Walgreens, Staples, and FedEx Office to give business owners convenient access to the Square Card Reader, the easiest way to accept credit card payments and grow their business.
