E-mail tactics to increase webinar attendance

January 28, 2020

Organizing webinars is a useful and effective marketing tactic that will help us to increase the number of our customers, maintain relations with existing ones, promote our product or services and finally – increase our income. Webinar software is a useful tool. People no longer want to put much effort into things, they just want to absorb information while relaxing at home. Online events are perfect for that. But how to engage people enough, so they choose our webinar over Netflix?

Define the target

The first thing we must do is to define our targeted audience. We should customize the message so it is tailored to the needs and interests of our potential client. Who is he/she? What demographic aspects are we interested in? What is his/her profile? Then let’s try to use words that will hook the right people. It is important that the message sounds individualized and not like just another spam e-mail about something no one cares about. The recipient should feel that the message is directed strictly to them and no one other. Their reaction should be: “Hey, I must know this, this would help me out, I need this”. Message as such probably will drive fewer people to our webinar but the ones that are going to show up will be the most valuable -people genuinely interested in the content.

How to create a perfect e-mail invitation?

An e-mail invitation has only one goal – to convince people to join in and attend our webinar. Even if the webinar itself is about something boring we must sell it to others. So the message must trick people into thinking that our webinar is something that everyone should attend to find out something important. We should keep it in mind while writing our invitation.

E-mail campaign promoting the webinar

Bear in mind that the e-mail campaign promoting the webinar is not just one message. We should send several different e-mails before the event and then a thank-you message with a follow-up. The first e-mail should be way ahead before the date of the event while doing a promotion. We can add a link to a short video with a sample of the best content that is expected to be seen on the webinar. Then we should send another message (with different title and description) a couple of days before the event, another one day before, and one on the day of the event, and then lastly one right before it starts – they should know that something important is about to happen now on the live webinar platform (https://www.livewebinar.com/).

Better hurry!

Title

The title is crucial to the whole marketing tactic. There is nothing more important. If someone clicks in the title to view our message we should count it as a win. Hence, we should think hard about the title and take into consideration the target we established before. With the proper title, we should be able to hook the potential attendees. It must appeal to the large audience but also at the same time be accurately targeted so it seems like an individual direct message to a certain person.
