Why Is Java so commonly used? Reasons explained

February 23, 2022

Java is known to be a very flexible programming language. Widely applicable in fintech,  e-commerce. cloud computing, blockchain, AI, IoT, ML, and many more. This makes Java a popular choice for programmers. As we mentioned before Java is a true eCommerce king. It is a truly outstanding solution to support many companies and industries in creating their retailer’s environment that is why Java has been chosen by giants such as Walmart or Amazon. What is more, it has also been used in the automotive business. We can say that Java proudly powers Tesla or the aerospace industry by being the top pick by Boeing. We cannot omit one of the most crucial facts here: Java supports one of the most popular smartphone software – Android.  We can surely say that this is one of the reasons that Java is here to stay.

This programming language has been with us for over two decades yet still, the demand for Java developers keeps growing each year. The latest Stack overflow report proves that Java remained one of the most popular programming choices actively chosen by programmers last year. Why does Java stay on the podium? Here are some reasons why.

Java is simple

Many developers say that Java’s syntax is much easier to understand and maintain that is why it might be an easy programming language to learn. What is more, Java is also debuggable which makes it an even more pleasant programming option to choose from. Some also say that Java is less complex than C++ or C as features such as storage classes, operator overloading, and many others have been completely removed from this programming language.

Java is budget-friendly

As a programming language that runs on specific hardware infrastructure, Java is much cheaper. For this reason, many companies would choose Java as the main language for their projects. Another feature that makes Java a budget-friendly option is that it can run on any machine, which is an immense financial benefit in some cases.

Stability is Java’s second name

Taking into account other programming languages Java is surely a stable choice.  Even the new versions of this programming language prove that Java stays away from new and more complex features for this reason it makes it a more stable and predictable option to choose for programmers. What is mandatory to mention is that Java, despite not implementing new and complex features, still remains on the podium and has been there for over 25 years, which proves that it is a stable language that still implements improvements to make the language perform well.

Summing up

Java is known to be very simple and enjoyable to learn the type of programming language. The need for Java programmers is likely to increase just like it gradually does each year as this programming language is applicable in many evolving industries. As a quite stable programming language, Java is safe to learn, and being a Java Software developer can turn out to be a great investment in your programming career in times where the demand on the market can change in the blink of an eye.
